It's OK. Owner a bit cranky but they do s decent breakfast. Picked a few wild tomatoes growing out if a bush for the journey home.
Came here with family for VJ Day service at the National Arboretum We booked for 4 nights at Meadows Way. Entering the driveway to the guest house was such a lovely surprise, so many pretty flowers which are well tended to. The rooms were very easy to find with the given instructions when we picked up our keys. We filled in a form each night for breakfast next morning, which we thought was a really good idea. I had the full English every morning, which was very nice. The rooms were clean and beds were comfy,,, room service every day . Our rooms had fans in which were very handy as it was really hot weather when we arrived. Graham, the owner was very welcoming , as was his mum-in-law Margie,, Meadows Way guest house is in a great location, the gorgeous little town centre is just a few minutes walk away. Lots of lovely shops, cafes, bars etc. The square is so beautiful, they have a war memorial with gorgeous flower displays, cast iron memorial benches to sit on and take in the atmosphere, and there are also a couple of cast iron statues too, such lovely tributes to their towns war heroes. This is also a great location for anyone visiting Uttoxeter races or Alton Towers, both only a short drive away. Plenty of shops too over at the retail park which is a 2-3 minute walk across the road from Meadows Way. There is also a KFC within walking distance at the other end of the street. There is also a fantastic park which is only a 2-3 minute drive away, located near the leisure centre. This park is huge and has a brook running alongside it, really great place for dog walkers, also has kids play areas at either side of the park, and lovely gardens with benches,, so much parkland, wildlife, trees etc, you could easily spend a good few hours here. Don't think I've ever seen such a well maintained park anywhere, it's so pretty and very very clean. So, all in all, Meadows Way guest house is a fabulous location for accessible amenities to suit all ages. I'd definitely recommend.
Thank you to all at Meadows Way Guest House for a lovely stay. I was away on a course with my dogs and this was a perfect place for us to stay just 20mins from our training venue. •Very dog friendly •Rooms were basic but very spacious and clean •Customer service was excellent - they couldn’t be more accommodating • Local amenities close by • Cooked breakfast every morning • Free car parking outside the rooms • Great value for money stay All in all, very happy. Many thanks again!
We stayed for one night midweek because we were attending a wedding nearby the following day. We asked for a late check out to allow us to get ready, Graham the host was more than accommodating. The breakfast was tasty, and ample portion. The location was perfectly placed for a walk around the market square with a scattering of pubs. There was supermarkets close by too. All in all we enjoyed our stay , the only criticism was the room was quite small and tight space around the bed, clean and comfortable otherwise
